Prophetic Teaching 5769/2009 the year of Separation By Rev. Cheryl Birch The Separation this year will take many forms. One form that I will talk more about in another lesson is separation of good and evil. The Lord clearly spoke to me that in order for His children to unify there must first be separation. We must be separated from the world and man made structures in order to unify with Him, His plan and His supernatural structures. The wheat must also be separated from the tares. Those who truly belong to Him will be divided from those who do not. Once His children are identified and they are then separated from mammon, Babylon, and the worldly ways of this life, then they can unify with each other in His love and power. In this lesson, I want to talk about holy God planned separations. Not all separating going on this year will be wheat from tares, good from evil. Separation in the English language means division, taking apart, disjointing, disconnection, parting, departure, good-bye and farewell. Not a particularly pleasant series of words in our language… but, if we look at it in light of Scripture and the Hebrew and Greek it takes on a whole different meaning. Mark 6:35 35When the day was now far spent, His disciples came to Him and said, “This is a deserted place, and already the hour is late. 36Send them away, that they may go into the surrounding country and villages and buy themselves bread; for they have nothing to eat.”37But He answered and said to them, “You give them something to eat.”And they said to Him, “Shall we go and buy two hundred denarii worth of bread and give them something to eat?”38But He said to them, “How many loaves do you have? Go and see.”And when they found out they said, “Five, and two fish.” 39Then He commanded them to make them all sit down in groups on the green grass. 40So they sat down in ranks, in hundreds and in fifties. 41And when He had taken the five loaves and the two fish, He looked up to heaven, blessed and broke the loaves, and gave them to His disciples to set before them; and the two fish He divided among them all. 42So they all ate and were filled. 43And they took up twelve baskets full of fragments and of the fish. 44Now those who had eaten the loaves were about five thousand men. It says that Jesus blessed and broke the loaves and that He divided the fish Broke = G2622 kataklao kat-ak-lah'-o From G2596 and G2806; to break down, that is, divide:—break. Divide = G3307merizo mer-id'-zo From G3313; to part, that is, (literally) to apportion, bestow, share, or (figuratively) to disunite, differ:—deal, be difference between, distribute, divide, give part. Both words mean to divide. Mark could have used the word klao which is a simple word that just means break. But, it was important that words indicating that the fish were divided were used. Jesus performed a miracle that day, but He was also demonstrating a principle of His Kingdom. Let’s use an example in nature… A cell in a living organism like the human body is one complete unit. When it is ready to multiply it develops a whole new set of chromosomes. Within the one unit of the cell those chromosomes start to travel away from each other. Then when the timing is just right and everything is in place for two perfect cells to be formed there is separation – they are divided into two cells. The new cells are part of the same body. They are together and yet they are totally separate from each other. Jesus was demonstrating a principle that is important for us to understand in this hour. In order to multiply and advance the kingdom of God there is first separation…division occurs. In the story, He kept breaking and dividing the bread and fish until everyone was fed and there were leftovers. Likewise, He will take a ministry in His hands bless it and divide it and then distribute the pieces to feed His sheep. It is important to note that if a cell does not divide when it’s time, it can produce a defective damaged inadequate cell or if it is unable to divide at all it will die. The importance of dividing in order to multiply is illustrated in the book of Acts. The church was suppose to go forth to the ends of the earth to share the Gospel – that is what Jesus said just before he ascended to the Father. But they remained in Jerusalem. They did not go out and spread the Good News. Or, we can use the analogy that their cell did not divide as it was suppose to. Nor did it divide when it was suppose to and thus death came. Persecution hit and the church was scattered. Some remained, but most left Jerusalem. The Lord used the scattering to spread the Gospel. But, it was a blessed division that would have resulted in much multiplication that He originally ordained. Once the church scattered that perfect plan of God began to happen, but it took great trauma to bring about the separation. We will be seeing different kinds of separating this year… as I mentioned earlier, some will be wheat from tares. Some separating will occur because the group has refused to move into the plan the Lord has for them and thus they are scattered as was the Jerusalem church. Lastly, some separating will be those who have heard Him, made the hard choices and determined to do what He has asked them to. This kind of separation brings peace and joy. The commanded blessing of God rests on these ones because they have come into agreement with His will for them. The important thing to remember this year is not to judge the separating. Lots of times we won’t know what kind of separating is happening as we look at it from the outside. Even the God ordained and well planned separation can be hard. It can be emotional as the changes occur. But, in the word of God, when separation is part of His plan, it always brings multiplication and blessing! |
